Founded in 1963, the Chinese Historical Society of America promotes the contributions and legacy of the Chinese in America through its exhibitions, publications, and educational and public programs in the Museum and Learning Center. We are housed in the landmark Julia Morgan-designed Chinatown YWCA building at 965 Clay Street, San Francisco.

  • We are a group of student leaders dedicated to preserving the Cantonese language and culture at City College of San Francisco. We are a group that was started because CCSF threatened to cut Cantonese classes indefinitely despite the fact that 75% of the Chinese speakers in San Francisco speak Cantonese. We are made up of teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, social workers, and much more. Cantonese is the language of the people we love and care about. We advocate for the elders in the community, immigrant families, and Chinese Americans. Learn about our fight at City College of San Francisco.

  • Asians Are Strong is a movement to protect and empower the Asian community.

We promote safety for the Asian community by empowering individuals to take action.

We strive toward the elimination of hate crimes and negative stereotypes against Asians.

We promise to lead by example, and educate community members and allies to feel inspired to stand against anti-Asian racism.

  • Asian Women's Shelter (AWS) was founded in 1988 to address the urgent and unmet needs of survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, especially those who are immigrant or refugee women, children, LGBTQ+/GNB, and/or youth. AWS welcomes survivors of all genders, ages, races, nationalities, language communities, abilities, income-levels and more. The survivors we work with every day embody courage, hope, and incredible determination. They inspire our unrelenting commitment to end violence in our families, communities, and world.
